<br />
So I myself have not blogged in a really long time, but that doesn't mean I haven't been reading other blogs, which brings me to my post today. Last year or so I came across this blog called Women Living Well and I absolutely loved it. The woman who runs it, talks a lot about living a Christ centered life, in your marriage, in your parenting, and all aspects of your life. I just love her tips! Also, she home schools her kids, which I will be starting more diligently soon, though my 3 year old and I have immensely loved the time spent together doing little projects that I've pulled out "on the fly," but I'm trying to establish more of a plan for the near future :) Anyway, she has started a new series, along with three other wonderful blogs, all about Reviving Your Marriage. This week is all about Reviving Your Prayers when it comes to your husband. I highly recommend you read it! The challenge this week is to treat your wedding ring like a string around your finger, reminding you to pray for your husband whenever it catches your eye, which I know for me happens ALL the time. Also, the blogging ladies recommend using a outside symbol, for when you're out and about. For me, I am choosing to use a Ralphs truck, since that is the company my husband currently works for. So this week, whenever I see a Ralphs truck, I am going to make sure to throw up a prayer for my best friend ;) I hope through this series that I can grow in many different areas in my marriage. I also hope that through participating in this challenge that I can be better about blogging more frequently.<br />

On the drive, Landon was being especially obnoxious and was completely ignoring me each time I tried to talk to him. As he was starting to get to me more and more, I thought to myself, boy do I need this night out. No sooner did that thought cross my mind then did I see a homeless person on the side of the road. This broke my heart because it was about 7 o'clock at night and about 50 degrees outside, and all this poor woman had was a shopping cart and a jacket on her back. I immediately realized how what I was complaining about in my head, was discounting the things I DO have right here, right now. I was in a warm car (with heated seats by the way), with a boy I love to death, and on my way to enjoy a coffee at Starbucks while I spent time with some good friends. I felt so selfish for not being grateful for how blessed I am. I know its not bad to get stressed out, being a mom is full of ups and downs, and I am definitely bound to get stressed from time to time....but do I show my gratitude on a DAILY basis for the enormous amount of blessings I do have in my life? Am I truly aware of how much I have? <br />
<br />
I know that God has placed a burden on my heart to serve, but I also know that I find plenty of excuses as to why I can't help do this or that. Sure I volunteer at church on occasion, but it's always when its convenient to me, its not much of a sacrifice or a burden on me. <br />
<br />
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." -1 Peter 4:10<br />
<br />
I pray that I will not turn away when I feel the calling. I pray that I will be able to use the gifts that God has given me and that I will be able to help others with God's help.<br />
<br />
One idea that I have seen is creating a bag of "goodies" to always have in your car so that if you see someone in need, you will already have something packed with things they definitely need. Some ideas of what to put inside is: blankets, chapstick, granola bars, water, hand warmers, mittens, socks, etc... This is just a start, and I know that are many more ways to help out there, and I look forward to getting started.<br />

<br />
Pinterest! I cannot believe how addicting this site can be. For those of you who do not know what it is, you must be under a rock ;) Its a site where you go to "pin" recipes, crafts, ideas, etc, etc... "pinning" simply means keeping all your ideas in one place. You can follow your friends and see everything they pin too. Its so fun and makes me feel so creative. The only problem is that sometimes I get so busy pinning that I don't stop to take the time to make what I've pinned. I had to make a board called "Done" just so that I would be inspired to complete things because I for sure did not want a board called done that remained completely empty! <br />
<br />
Its easier to understand once you get on the site yourself, so what are you waiting for: get to it....<br />
<br />
Although I do have to admit that once you start its hard to stop, but maybe thats a good thing, right? So go ahead and become inspired!!Heather Lowehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04405077036678682398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876396809089271709.post-82691655118948519832011-11-04T23:28:00.000-07:002011-11-04T23:28:47.391-07:00We ♥ the FairWe love so much about the fair. There's so much to do and such amazing food! It was me, my husband Jake, our boy Landon, my mom, and my brother. We started out our day exploring the trains and we even took a tour through an old train car and got to climb into the "engine" of a train. Needless to say, it was so fun and a very unique experience!<br />

I think the best part is just being married to my best friend. What an amazing feeling it is to wake up next to, spend my day with, and end my day with the one God chose for me. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So this year we decided to do something a little different than usual to celebrate our Anniversary. First we went to breakfast at our favorite spot, this restaurant called Kick Back Jack's (used to be BC Cafe) that is right next to where our first apartment was when we got married. We love this place not only for the nostalgia of when we were first married, but also because the food is delicious and you get SO much for your money. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">After that we went hiking in a place called Big Falls (right next to Forest Falls). We had packed a yummy lunch for when we got to the top of the hike, where there is an amazing waterfall, and we thought we could eat our picnic lunch right next to it. It was such an amazing trip and I'm so glad we decided to spend the day together outdoors, enjoying God's amazing creation!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Well we have been super busy just enjoying summer and lovin life! Our family is so blessed to be able to go on so many fun adventures, so here are some of the things that have kept us so busy and have kept me from keeping up with this blog...<br />
<br />
For my birthday I had told my husband that I wanted him to take me to UCR (University of California Riverside) for a date. See this is the college I graduated from, this is the school I was attending when I met my husband, and this is the school that I graduated from just one month prior to getting married, so we have a lot of memories tied up in this place. :) So I just thought we would eat on the campus and then walk around, but my husband went above and beyond. He took us to the super fancy Alumni cafe where we had delicious food and a nice romantic atmosphere, then we walked around and also went to the student store to get some memorabilia merchandise. Its funny how I have school pride now that I have been out of there for about 4yrs, I miss it. <br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We also did the Autism walk in May, which was something I hadn't done in a few yrs, but a cause that is so near and dear to my heart. Before I became a stay at home mom, I was able to work in a special education class with students with autism. So I took my husband and my boy with me this year to show our support for this cause. I am planning on doing the walk every yr now and with much bigger gusto than I've given it before!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhONr_ORiDI-HftAdt5pO4-_g0np_T_0v6vzl7VaTpAK5HTDYwtUwCGC4TpFALKsVxzfoaWWOIHJpB3snIcC4_tn9VKeQFZGCLx0CnJ0NrradMAHaHCDRluGO2OiPn74iGu-CQRw5fagoeM/s1600/autism+walk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhONr_ORiDI-HftAdt5pO4-_g0np_T_0v6vzl7VaTpAK5HTDYwtUwCGC4TpFALKsVxzfoaWWOIHJpB3snIcC4_tn9VKeQFZGCLx0CnJ0NrradMAHaHCDRluGO2OiPn74iGu-CQRw5fagoeM/s200/autism+walk.jpg" t$="true" width="150" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also got the chance to go to a taping of "The Price is Right." It was my grandma, my mom, and I, and we had SUCH a great time! Getting on a game show is definitely something on my bucket list! I love game shows and I feel like I am destined to be a contestant one day, and going to this taping felt like on step closer. It was such a great experience and made me want to do more T.V. tapings in the future.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Maybe its because pretty much my entire family loves baseball (and the Angels especially). Maybe its because of the family atmosphere and the fact that, starting today, anything is possible...Whatever it is, I get SUPER excited for this day, today, to come along every year. I start getting anxious right around October, pretty much the day immediately following the completion of the World Series. My life is just different without baseball in it everyday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I have grown up loving baseball and the Angels. My parents have brought me to games since a very young age and I have been playing softball of and on since I was 6 years old. What can I say? Its in my genes. Baseball is practically in our family's DNA and I love it. I love watching the game with my parents, my husband, and my son. I love the connection I have with my dad while talking ball. I love that my husband and I both get so excited about the game. I love watching my son learn more and more about the game everyday, and I love that we're continuing the tradition that will be in our family for a long time to come.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This past Sunday our family had a great day out at the ballpark. We went to Fanfest, which is basically a day all about the fans. There were a bunch of booths with different sponsors who had giveaways and contests. There were players signing autographs. There were interviews with players on a big stage. There were interactive games for kids and adults alike. We had a blast! We went home with so much great stuff and with huge smiles on our faces (and tired feet as well). After the fanfest we also got to go to a pre-season game at the stadium. All this for a mere $5 and it was SO worth it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Not only do I have my amazing little nuclear family, but I have my immediate family, my extended family, my in-laws, and my husbands extended family. So basically last week I had a few different celebrations with all my different "families" and there's still more to come.<br />
<br />
First, for my actual birthday, Thursday March 10th, we went to, where else, Disneyland. Those who know me, know that I spend a fair amount of time there. I would say I go there about 3-4 times a month. To some people this seems crazy, but to others its pretty normal, especially to my other passholder friends out there. :) Anyway, so we got to Disneyland around 1pm, it was me, my husband Jake, my son Landon, my mom, and my grandma. My mom and grandma stayed for a few hours and then they took Landon home so me and the hubs could have a disneyland date night! It was such an amazing day, especially because the crowds were not too bad and we were able to ride a lot of rides and just enjoy the park without having to weave in and out of too many people. Jake and I ended the night with dinner @ Denny's (which was free for me because it was my birthday, yay!) All in all, a great Disney day!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So then, the next day, Friday, we went to my in-laws house for dinner and dessert! It was so nice to have that time with them. They are so good to me. I truly have thee BEST in-laws! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then on Saturday, we went with my family (parents, brother, gma, aunt, cousins) to Claim Jumper, yum! Once again, my dinner was free because it was my birthday (woohoo for an $18 steak, potatoes, mac n cheese, and cheesy bread meal for free!) Such a great time with the fam.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And coming up this Saturday is the finale of my birthday celebrations. My husbands family always gets together once a month to celebrate whoevers birthday is that particular month. It has been so nice to be a part of this tradition for the last 4 years or so, and its always nice because the celebration is usually towards the end of the month, so even when my actual bday is over, I still have one more party to look forward to. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I just LOVE birthdays, something about them is so special. It is the one day a year that you don't have to share with anyone else and you can just take the day a little easier (in my case week, or maybe even month, lol). In fact, I even told my husband last week that I didn't feel like cleaning one particular day because it was my birthday week, haha. Ya, he thought it was pretty funny. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">All in all, I am just so thankful for all of my family that I am so blessed to have. I appreciate everything all of you do to make my life that much sweeter! Love you all! </div><div align="center"></div>Heather Lowehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04405077036678682398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876396809089271709.post-70967252672164412142011-03-09T23:57:00.000-08:002011-03-09T23:57:02.321-08:00Here Goes NothingI've been thinking of starting a blog for what seems like forever, but somehow I never got around to getting it going. I figured its about time, and since everyone I know is starting one, I better just tell myself, "It's ok to sit at the computer and write about your day." I guess I like the idea of blogging, but trying to sit down and write the "right" things, makes me nervous. "Am I going to sound dumb" or "Am I really going to have fun and interesting things to talk about" were questions that constantly filled my head, but I have decided that I'm going to do this whole blogging thing for me. If other people read it and like it, that's great, but if they don't, then thats okay too.<br />
<br />
So basically a little about me: I have been married for about 3 years. We have a 2 year old son who is the light of our life. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with him and just spend my day wrapped up in him and our family life, with an occasional load of laundry thrown in :) I go to Sunrise Church in Rialto and have been going there for almost 10 years. I love this church because there is always opportunity for growth, whether through classes, ministry, or fellowship. It is also where my husband and I met, which gives it a special place in my ♥. At Sunrise, I volunteer in the nursery, am part of the cookie ministry, and play softball in the sports ministry. I LOVE all things baseball. My team has been and always will be the Angels. What can I say, it is a family tradition :) I also LOVE going to Disneyland and pretty much anything Disney-related. Our family goes to Disneyland about 3-4 times a month. Some people think that's a little crazy, but to us its just normal, its been that way for years. <br />
<br />
Well that is just a little about me. I look forward to this journey and seeing where it takes me...Heather Lowehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04405077036678682398noreply@blogger.com1
